What Core IT includes

Five pillars hold the plan up: proactive 24/7 monitoring, a round-the-clock helpdesk, infrastructure management, patch and update management, and disk encryption on every machine. Here's what that means day to day:

AreaWhat we handle
Helpdesk & onsite supportUnlimited support for your team — remote-first, with on-site included within 175 miles of Newport Beach and billed at $145 an hour plus travel beyond it, quoted in advance
Proactive monitoring24/7 watch on servers, endpoints, and network health; most issues fixed before you notice them
Patch & update managementOperating systems and applications kept current, on a schedule that doesn't interrupt your workday
Email & identityBusiness email management, multi-factor authentication, and an email security gateway that filters threats before the inbox — with SPF, DKIM and DMARC (email authentication) kept valid so nobody can send mail pretending to be you
Employee onboarding & offboardingA new hire ready on day one, and a departing one cut off the same day across every system
Endpoint protectionEndpoint detection & response (EDR) on every managed device — beyond traditional antivirus
DNS filteringA malicious link stops resolving before the page can load — on the office network and off it
Mobile threat defenseThreat protection on every managed phone and tablet
Network & firewallManaged next-generation firewall, secure VPN access, and sensible security policies — with standard equipment (firewall, network switch, Wi‑Fi access point and battery backup (UPS)) managed at every location
Backup & disaster recoveryPublished add-ons rather than plan inclusions — server, endpoint and Microsoft 365 backup each carry their own rate, and we manage whatever you buy
Disk encryptionBitLocker and FileVault enforced by policy, recovery keys held centrally — a lost laptop is an inconvenience, not a breach notification
Vulnerability managementOngoing vulnerability scanning across your environment
Incident-response planningA written plan for the bad day, before the bad day
Vendor, asset & ISP managementWe track hardware and software lifecycles and manage your internet-provider relationships end to end
vCIO strategy & business reviewsTechnology strategy and a roadmap from a vCIO, with business reviews on your schedule — quarterly, semi-annual or annual, never fewer than once a year
A named lead engineerOne engineer owns your environment — you will never re-explain your network
Support portalOpen a ticket, track it and see your asset list without waiting on the phone
Compliance supportPractical help meeting the IT requirements your industry and insurers ask about

Running Microsoft 365? How we manage, secure and license it. Something already broken? Emergency IT support, the honest version. We support PCs, Macs, Linux, mobile devices, and custom-built systems.

How Core IT and Secure IT compare

There are two decisions, not three products: how much security you want, and where your systems run. This table is the first one — every capability in both plans, side by side. Secure IT contains Core IT entirely; nothing is taken away to make room for it.

Every capability in both plans, per user per month. Last updated August 2026.
Capability Core IT
$125/user
Secure IT
$250/user
Included in both plans — Core IT is real security
Unlimited helpdesk & on-site support within 175 miles of Newport Beach, 24/7 monitoring and patching
Endpoint detection & response (EDR) on every computer
Multi-factor authentication & identity management
Email security gateway, encryption and email authentication
DNS filtering — malicious links stop resolving
Mobile threat defense on every managed phone and tablet
Disk encryption enforced, with recovery keys held centrally
Continuous vulnerability management & remediation
Incident-response planning
vCIO strategy, business reviews and a named lead engineer
What the extra $125 adds — the Secure IT delta
24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC)
Managed detection & response (MDR) — analysts who act, not just alert
SIEM log intelligence — one year of log retention included
Identity threat monitoring (ITDR) — the SOC watches sign-ins, not just devices
Application allowlisting — only approved software runs
Annual vendor risk review — who touches your data, ranked and questioned
Security awareness training & phishing simulation
Dark-web monitoring for your credentials & domain
Microsoft 365 backup — one-year immutable retention add-on · $9.50
Shadow-AI governance — inventory, policy and the controls that enforce it
Internal risk & NIST CSF posture assessments
Cyber-insurance questionnaire support

That is one of the two decisions. The other is where your systems run — your own equipment at your offices, or hosted on infrastructure we own. Hosting sits on top of whichever plan you choose rather than replacing it, which is why it carries two prices. See Cloud Complete and the four published rates →

And on either plan, the guarantee: if we miss our published response standard on more than 10% of your tickets in a quarter, you can terminate — even inside year one. It's in the published terms →

Who Core IT fits

Core IT suits teams of roughly 10 to 150 people who want IT handled — reliably, at a known cost. Where a framework is in play, that work starts on Secure IT — Core IT is not an option for a regulated environment, because the frameworks lean on the monitored layer it adds. We work daily with:

Already have an IT person? We offer the flexibility to either complement your existing IT team or serve as your complete IT department.

Switching providers, without the drama

Standard onboarding runs 2–4 weeks, overlapped with your outgoing provider so nothing drops:

  1. Assessment call (30 minutes). Free, with the owner — we benchmark your setup and costs against published rates.
  2. Mapping & documentation. Every system, account, and vendor documented — included in your $0 onboarding; or before you sign as a paid IT discovery at published rates, credited in full against your first invoice.
  3. Parallel run. Monitoring, security and any backup you buy come online alongside your current provider.
  4. Cutover & orientation. Your team meets us, learns how to reach us, and keeps working.

Moving to our private cloud? Prepared in weeks, cut over in a weekend

We prepare and parallel-run over 2–4 weeks, then cut over when nothing is left to chance: Friday we deploy. Saturday we migrate. Sunday we test. Your team connects Monday morning — with no interruption to the work week.

Urgent? There’s a fast track

When a situation can’t wait, our fast-track path compresses onboarding into 24–72 hours — security and monitoring live first, full documentation to follow.

FAQ

Is Core IT the same as Essential IT?

Yes — Core IT is the current name for the plan formerly offered as Essential IT. Same plan, clearer name.

How much do managed IT services cost in Orange County?

Orange County rates typically run $100–$400 per user per month. CRC Cloud's Core IT plan is a published $125 per user/month, all-in — helpdesk, monitoring, patching, endpoint protection and disk encryption included.

Is anything not included in the $125?

The plan covers unlimited support and everything in the table above, including each person's workstation — plus managing one firewall, one network switch, one Wi-Fi access point, one battery backup (UPS) and one internet circuit at every location, at no extra charge. To be clear about what that means: the equipment stays yours, and so does any subscription running on it (firewall content filtering, IPS or VPN licensing, for example) — what the plan covers is monitoring, patching, configuration, vendor handling and support. Beyond that first set, shared infrastructure — servers and any additional network equipment — is billed per device at published rates, and one-time hardware or projects (like an office move or a server replacement) are quoted separately, in writing, before any work starts.

Can you work with our existing IT person instead of replacing them?

Yes. We can complement your existing IT team — handling security, backup, or after-hours coverage — or serve as your complete IT department. Many clients start co-managed.

Do you support Macs and mixed environments?

Yes. We support Macs, PCs, Linux, mobile devices, and custom builds under the same plan.

How painful is switching IT providers?

Less than staying with the wrong one. Onboarding takes 2–4 weeks and we overlap with your outgoing provider, so support never lapses. Your team mostly notices that things start getting fixed.

What if we want to leave CRC Cloud?

After the one-year initial term, the agreement is month-to-month with 60 days' notice. No exit fees, and your documentation and credentials are yours — we hand them over cleanly.
