For businesses with internal IT teams

Co-Managed IT: Your Internal Team, Backed by Ours

Nobody knows your business like the IT people inside it. Co-Managed IT keeps that advantage and adds what one person — or a small team — can't cover alone: 24/7 monitoring, senior escalation depth and enterprise-grade tooling — and, on Secure IT, a staffed 24/7 security operations center.

On top sits vCIO/vCTO strategy — an IT roadmap, a budget you can plan around, governance and compliance handled before the audit. Your team keeps the keys. We bring the bench.

When co-managed fits

Four gaps we're usually hired to close

If any of these sounds like your week, co-managed IT is the fix — without giving anything up.

A lean IT team

One or two good people carrying helpdesk, projects, and infrastructure at once. We take the ticket volume so they can take the high-value work.

The after-hours gap

Your admin sleeps; attackers and outages don't. Our monitoring and response run 24/7, so 2 a.m. problems stop waiting for 9 a.m.

Security depth

A security operations center, MDR and SIEM are impractical to staff internally. Plug your team into ours — that layer is Secure IT instead of building one.

The strategy gap

Daily firefighting leaves no time for roadmaps, budgets, or compliance planning. The vCIO layer covers exactly that.

vCIO strategy: executive-level IT leadership, without the executive hire

A virtual CIO is the person whose whole job is making sure technology decisions serve the business — not the loudest vendor, not last year's plan, not whatever's on sale. They set direction, own the roadmap, and translate between what the business wants and what IT can deliver — working with your internal team, never around it.

  • Strategy and a multi-year roadmap, reviewed on a set cadence
  • An IT budget you can plan around, tied to business priorities
  • Risk, governance, and compliance handled proactively — not at audit time

What the vCIO discipline covers

Advisory work grouped the way a CIO would think about it — strategy first, then the discipline that keeps it on track.

AreaWhat we do
IT strategy & roadmapA clear, multi-year plan for your technology — what to build, keep, and retire, and in what order
Technology alignmentEvery significant IT decision tested against your actual business goals, not trends or vendor pressure
IT budgeting & planningPredictable budgets and total-cost-of-ownership analysis, so investment is deliberate rather than reactive
Strategic business reviewsRegular sit-downs with you and your IT staff to re-sync the roadmap and budget as the business evolves
IT governancePolicies, controls, and documentation mapped to recognized frameworks — decision-making with a paper trail
Compliance strategyA practical path to the standards your industry, clients, and insurers require, ready to evidence
Risk & vendor managementOngoing assessment of technology risk and oversight of the vendors and contracts behind your stack
Project & transformation planningScoping, sequencing, and budgeting for moves, migrations, overhauls, and growth — change that lands cleanly

Your team keeps the keys

Co-Managed IT only works when it's honestly a partnership. Your administrator keeps admin rights and the local knowledge no outsider can match. Documentation lives in your environment, in the open — if we ever parted ways, you'd keep every runbook. No hostage-taking, no quiet lock-in.

What we add is the part no small team can staff: the 2 a.m. shift. Every small-business breach the Verizon DBIR 2026 studied was financially motivated and came from an external attacker — coverage depth matters even when you have good people.

How it works

One platform, two depths — priced in the open

Co-Managed IT runs on the same two plans we publish for everyone. The split of duties is scoped to your team; the pricing stays on the website.

Core IT — the platform, $125/user

Unlimited helpdesk depth behind your team, proactive 24/7 monitoring, patching and updates, and asset and vendor management — with vCIO strategy built in.

Secure IT — adds the SOC, $250/user

Everything in Core IT plus the 24/7 security operations center: managed detection and response, SIEM log intelligence, and dark-web monitoring — escalation depth no small team can build alone.

Onboarding maps every responsibility to one owner — typically 2–4 weeks, overlapped with whatever you run today. Terms stay simple: a one-year initial term, then month-to-month with 60 days' notice and no exit fees, with 15-minute response during business hours. And when the roadmap points to hosting, our private cloud team takes it from there. See the full pricing guide →

Straight answers

Co-Managed IT, asked and answered

The questions internal IT teams — and the people they report to — actually ask us.

Can we keep our internal IT admin?

Yes — that's the whole model. Co-Managed IT exists to make the team you have stronger, not to replace it. Your administrator keeps admin rights, the systems they know, and day-to-day control; we add the 24/7 monitoring, security operations, escalation depth, and enterprise tooling that are impractical to build for one company. If we ever thought full outsourcing served you better, we'd say so plainly — co-managed is for teams worth keeping.

Who owns what in a co-managed arrangement?

Whatever split fits your team — documented, not assumed. A typical arrangement: your staff own end-user relationships, line-of-business applications, and onsite hands; CRC Cloud owns 24/7 monitoring, patching cadence, security operations, and after-hours response. During onboarding we map every responsibility to one owner, so nothing is double-handled and nothing is dropped — and the split can shift as your team changes.

How does escalation work when our team gets stuck?

Your IT staff get a direct line to our senior engineers — not a ticket black hole. Response runs 15 minutes during business hours, monitoring runs 24/7, and with Secure IT our security operations center contains threats around the clock, so an incident at 2 a.m. is handled at 2 a.m. Your team keeps the credit for the save; we supply the depth behind it.

What does the vCIO service include?

Executive-level IT leadership on a set cadence: a multi-year technology roadmap, IT budgeting and total-cost-of-ownership planning, strategic business reviews, IT governance — policies, controls, and documentation mapped to recognized frameworks — and a practical compliance strategy for the standards your industry, clients, and insurers ask about. It's the layer most internal teams never get time to build.

How is co-managed IT priced?

On the same published plans as everything we do: Core IT $125 per user per month and Secure IT $250 per user per month, scoped to the responsibilities we actually take on. Contracts run a one-year initial term, then month-to-month with 60 days' notice and no exit fees.

Can the arrangement change as our team changes?

That's one of its main virtues. If your IT manager leaves, we absorb more until you rehire. If you build out an internal team, we hand responsibilities back and shift toward security operations and strategy. And when a specific project needs planning — a migration, an office move, an acquisition — we scope standalone vCIO consulting engagements, quoted in writing before any work begins.
